Sorry I haven't been around much this week! My area got hit by what I genuinely think was the worst heat wave I've ever lived through.

Oh my god, I don't even know how to begin to describe it. It's starting to cool off now, but only barely. The heat was indescribable. We got over 110f in heat index temperatures. Every time I stepped outside it was like I was drowning. I had to bring my potted plants inside for a day because they had just started sagging on the balcony - even my basil, which is otherwise a hardy little fucker.

On the bright side I learned a lot of people on my Mastodon instance were around my area, and I got to talk to other semi-local people about how bad it's been.

Otherwise, I've been sleeping through most of the afternoons, playing Splatoon when I can stay awake for long enough. I got dehydrated yesterday and ended up loading up on those "Clear American" sparkling waters at Walmart, which Google was convincing me was one of the better ways to stay hydrated for someone who hates drinking tap water. I like these things and they're keeping me alive.

I've updated my video collection again. I'm very behind on it because it's starting to feel daunting, but even a few updates at a time is better than none at all for another few months, I suppose.

I'm also aware I'm behind on updating Needleminder. It's been hard. I haven't let go of it, I still pick at it a little every day. The next update is... ambitious, I guess I'd say, but I think I'll finally have it by next week.
